My Therapy Approach

My therapy approach includes a mixture of expressive arts, person-centered therapy, systemic therapy and sensory integrative approaches.

The first step in our journey together is to create safety. A safe space to support the needs of the day. My therapy beliefs focus on exploring the system within ourselves. We ask ourselves “What do I need for myself, from others, and from the environment around me?” My role is to provide a space to explore these needs. You are the narrator of your life, I am here to provide a safe space to support and encourage.

Modalities I can use in the therapy room include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Collaborative Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Play-based Therapy. I believe that there are benefits to using a multitude of modalities in the therapy room. We will work collaboratively to build the toolbox that fits your therapy needs.

What is Dance/Movement Therapy?

Dance/ Movement Therapy is the psycho-therapeutic use of dance, movement, body awareness, and embodied communication to foster healing and well-being for all individuals, families, and communities.

I use Dance/movement therapy in my practice to explore what the body is saying and needing in our everyday lives. Often, our body is telling us something we just need to spend some time to listen. This whole-person approach gives space to explore, understand and support sensory needs.
